Karen is the founder of Abundant Step Associates, a consulting/advisory firm specializing in (a) go-to-market product, partnership, and marketing strategy, (b) creation of business development and marketing tools and programs, and .
(c) architecture or analysis of consumer and commercial agreements.Karen spent the last five years at Google. Most recently, she worked most closely with product management and engineering departments, managing a team that drove partnerships for Google's early stage incubation and exploratory efforts. As part of those efforts, Karen worked with several Fortune 500 companies to incorporate Google's interactive services like Google Earth and YouTube in their marketing efforts. Prior to her business development role, Karen worked in Google's legal department, structuring and negotiating various consumer and commercial partnerships. Then, Karen managed internal operational aspects of Google's IPO.
Prior to Google, Karen advised varied emerging technology companies as an attorney at Venture Law Group and as an independent consultant. She also consulted on operational and process improvements at Fortune 500 companies with Deloitte Consulting Group. Karen was also a founding Board member and President of Northwestern's Small Business Opportunity Center, a provider of legal and business services to entrepreneurs and nonprofits in the Chicago area, nationally recognized as one of the top clinics of its type.
Karen holds an MBA/JD from Northwestern University and an AB from Princeton University.

Background: Centuries ago, legend has it that certain adventurers, after acquiring significant experience and skill, gained the ability to leap effortlessly through the air to traverse chasms that made normal travelers balk. They called this ability "abundant step." Imagine being able to instantly transport yourself from your current location to any other spot you want, just by visualizing or stating your desired direction.
