I am a scientist and teacher living in Brooklyn and interested in joining a network of entrepreneurs.  I am about to start a company with a partner, but, it probably will not be a full-time gig.  So, I'm really interested to understand how to best balance and support one's entrepreneurial activities with other professional work.

I got a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005, using analytical chemistry in applications in archaeology and genomics. I then spent 2.5 years with McKinsey & Company serving clients in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

After leaving McKinsey almost a year ago, I have been tutoring chemistry, freelance writing, and developing science curriculum. I am very happy with this transition to science communication and education, and hoping I can bring some of my ideas to fruition via starting a company.  I would love to join a network of fellow entrepreneurs in this voyage.
